I write a lot about ways to engage your customers, develop your current business strategies and take advantage of different advertising channels, but what about the most basic, fundamental thing you can do – actually coming up with ideas for your business. This is something most of us take for granted. After all, if you’re successful even a little bit, you must have had at least one good business idea. But, not everyone is so lucky. I know there are some readers out there right now who have not yet been able to successfully discover their calling or who are trying to expand. So, where do the best ideas come from?
The Age Old Question – What Interests You?
It’s probably a little cliché at this point, but I tell as many Christian home business owners as I can that the number one thing they should focus on is what they are interested in. The key to a successful business idea is not finding something profitable. It’s finding something you enjoy that can be transformed into something profitable.
When you manage to do that, you put yourself leaps and bounds ahead of most other people in the same niche because you bring a passion and desire to succeed that they cannot match without the same innate interest.
